![]() ![]() ![]() Prior to EWC, my only waxing experience - anywhere! - was always with strips aka a soft wax. Hard wax is the only wax for me! So a quick lesson in waxes is that soft wax uses strips and hard wax doesn't. It always helps, because they've given themselves a process to follow, which is now predictable to me. This matter to me because I don't have to work to hard to remember what services I usually get (because it's a lot) or who I saw or when I need to come back. From the check in process to paying at the end, everything runs smoothly & is connected to my online EWC account. ![]() I wouldn't be me if I didn't notice systems. All the staff, however, is masked, regardless of what the rest of us are doing.Įverything runs so efficiently because of the systems they've seen up. although for my upper lip & chin, my mask would come off anyway. Because the state of WA (currently) isn't requiring vaccinated adults to wear masks, as a patron, I'm no longer obligated to remain masked. Prior to the vaccinations, I would check in via phone OUTSIDE, then my tech would come & get me once ready. I've experience their services prior to the vaccination roll outs, as well as after - I actually don't know anything of EWC protocols in a COVID-free world, which feels crazy to me to even type. Their COVID precautions make me comfortable. so before I can even decide how the services or personnel measure up, I'm scoping out the space itself. The facility is always so clean! Cleanliness & general aesthetics are always top of mind for me whenever I'm going somewhere for wellness services - doctor's office, dentist's office, nail salon, hair salon, etc. ![]() I won't getting into the particulars of the process because I'm no expert but here's what stands out most to me (in no particular order) every time I'm there. and all give great service - from the waxing to the conversation, which makes a huge difference in keeping me calm while the hair is being removed, My favorite aesthetician thus far is no longer at the center I go to (and I'm sad about it) so I usually go back into my EWC online account when I get home, to see who's available around my appointment time to try to guess who my tech will be. EWC offers an extensive list of services - from head to toe - so I was able to choose areas that I'd only ever previously shaved, plus areas I'd never considered hair removal, like my chin.Įvery month, at the close of my appointment, I have them schedule my next appointment. although I only did the stomach strip once. I've since added upper lip, chin, underarm, stomach strip, and lower legs. Where some people would choose to build up their services, I chose the opposite and this worked best for me. I went this route knowing that this would be the most intimate and most painful service I'd ever get from them, and if I left that service satisfied, adding on other areas would be a no brainer. If you read my last EWC blog post, then you know that my first service was a Brazilian wax. So let's get into why exactly, 6 months later, I am still a European Wax Center client. but this commitment is aided by the fact that the European Wax Center has consistently provided me with the service and care I'd expect for something so intimate. More than that, aside from talk therapy and physical therapy, it's also the longest I've gone consistently doing something for my self a very very long time.Ĭommitting to my monthly appointments has officially graduated from self care to self maintenance. This month marks 6 months of standing appointments at the European Wax Center - the longest I've gone with consistent wax services. Earlier this year, I gave myself the gift of time & care by adding regular wax appointments at the European Wax Center to my schedule & budget. ![]()

Cheesy Broccoli and Cauliflower Casserole. For a holiday dinner, we typically will have mashed potatoes, a vegetable or two plus rolls or homemade bread. ![]() Honestly, the answer to this is just about anything. This is just an estimate and if you are wanting to use leftovers in recipes like this family favorite ham casserole or a delicious broccoli and cauliflower au gratin with ham, then plan on more ham. When buying a ham, I keep this in mind: The best rule of thumb for ham is to plan about 1/2 pound per person when picking a bone-in ham (it’s heavier) and 1/3 pound if boneless. A pre-cooked ham should be cooked to a temperature of 140☏ which will take 4-5 hours on low for an 8-10lb ham. Be sure to check your package to make sure your ham is pre-cooked, the package will tell you what temperature the ham needs to reach. This recipe uses a spiral ham which is a pre-cooked. I find some slow cooker ham recipes suggest a cook time that is much longer than need be. I used a 6 quart slow cooker with the 8 pound ham. We love having pineapple with ham so I reserved the juice for the glaze and then grill (or broil) the pineapple to serve later.īecause you are slow cooking the ham, the juices will be abundant and cover the ham in the slow cooker so be sure your ham fits in the crock with a little extra room. I am loving this one with the brown sugar and pineapple juice. Over the years, I’ve used different glazes, some with 2 ingredients and other with more. This slow cooker spiral ham has the best glaze and is only 2 ingredients. Heating the oven in the summer isn’t always something I want to do so using the crock pot is ideal. We typically have a spiral ham at Easter and Christmas with one thrown in there in the summer for sandwiches and multiple meals. My oven was used for the sides and dinner was time perfectly. Takes less time, stays tender and moist plus the slow cooker is such a space saver appliance. I typically make ham in the oven but now that I’ve used the slow cooker for this spiral ham, I’m hooked. Five minute prep and the result is a delicious glazed tender ham to serve for any holiday meal or Sunday dinner. Glazed with a 2 ingredient topping, this Slow Cooker Spiral Ham is cooked to perfection. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
